Reviewed July 24, 2026. DFAS publishes the official active-duty paydays and the dates that mid-month notices and end-of-month Leave and Earnings Statements become available in myPay. A bank may show a deposit early, but the DFAS schedule is the official planning date.
Remaining 2026 active-duty pay schedule
| Pay period | Mid-month payday | End-of-month payday | End-of-month LES available |
|---|---|---|---|
| August | Aug. 14 | Sept. 1 | Aug. 25 |
| September | Sept. 15 | Oct. 1 | Sept. 24 |
| October | Oct. 15 | Oct. 30 | Oct. 23 |
| November | Nov. 13 | Dec. 1 | Nov. 24 |
| December | Dec. 15 | Dec. 31 | Dec. 24 |
The DFAS page also lists each mid-month notice date. Check the live DFAS table before making a time-sensitive decision because federal holidays and weekends can shift a payday.
What to check on every LES
DFAS calls the LES your first and best source for understanding military pay. Use the same monthly sequence so changes stand out:
- Identification and service data: Confirm pay grade, years of service, duty information, and other header data that drive entitlements.
- Entitlements: Compare basic pay, housing, subsistence, special pays, and bonuses with the previous month and your current orders.
- Deductions: Review federal and state withholding, Social Security and Medicare, SGLI or other insurance, debts, and other deductions.
- Allotments: Confirm every allotment is authorized and the amount is correct.
- Leave: Compare brought-forward, earned, used, current balance, and any use-or-lose amount.
- Remarks: Read the remarks section for starts, stops, debts, leave changes, and other explanations.
- Net pay: Reconcile the expected deposit with the account that actually received it.
Check more closely after a change
Review the first LES after reporting, promotion or advancement, PCS, marriage or dependent change, deployment, special-pay eligibility change, reenlistment, bonus action, leave correction, or a change of state tax status. A small error can continue for months if it is not reported.
If something is wrong
Save the affected LES, the previous correct LES, orders or supporting forms, and a short description of what changed. Contact your command CPPA or finance office and ask for the case or transaction number. Do not send an unredacted LES through ordinary email; it contains sensitive personal and financial information.
